Ellyn has more than 25 years experience working with women leaders, entrepreneurs and executives in many aspects of business and nonprofit management, with a focus on working with leaders who want better results from their team. Particular areas of expertise include:
- leadership development
- strategic planning
- building high-performing teams
- strategic planning, and
- organizational culture.
Ellyn was on the ground floor in working to strengthen women-owned businesses. In the early ‘ 90s, she was instrumental in establishing the successful Washington office of the American Woman’s Economic Development Corporation (AWED), the first organization in the U.S. to provide training and business counseling to aspiring and established women entrepreneurs.
She has been a consistent leader in working with women’s businesses, playing key roles in the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization (Executive Director for five years), the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC – reports to Congress). In addition, she has provided organizational expertise in the for-profit sector.
Ellyn graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a degree in Psychology and earned a master’s degree from American University in Industrial Relations. She has also attended Oxford University’s Trinity College (program in English Literature) and Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business (executive business certificate program).
